Jerick's Math Blog Post !

HELLO FELLOW CLASSMATES
and Mr. Backe !

Today in math class the first thing we did was we were given a grid , an integer grid and we had to write numbers on the top and along the side and it was addition . It was a timed integer assignment. This is what the assignment looked like .

sorry if you can't really see the numbers . i tried my best .

Also in math , we talked about rotating an object around a point . Heres what it looks like

im sorry that its kind of hard to understand or see

Black Shape = Where we started
Black Line = Line of Reflection
Purple Shape= Where it ends when reflected
Red Shape = Where it ends once reflected and rotated around point J which is located on ( 0,-3)

Okay , this is a technique that i used ..

Lets start with reflection , say Point A . I counted diagonally to the Line Of Reflection and i got 2 and a half squares . So from the Line of Reflection , i counted diagonally 2 and a half sqaures . Thats what i did with all of the Points .

For the Rotation , i drew a 90 degree angle , as you can see it says 90 degrees in PURPLE . So i started with Point C' . i counted 2 spaces in between the Center of Rotation and Point C . For a 90 degree angle i counted up from the Center of Rotation two spaces . I did that for all Points as well .

Im sorry if you can't really understand my explanations , i make things difficult in my head so its really hard for me to explain how i get my answers .

  1. Nice job JERICK. You used the colors very nice in your post. It shows the a lot of important things. The first picture is kinda small, but i could read it. Try to make pictures more bigger next time. You used the colors very productively for the homework. I understand how to do rotations the way you explained it in the blog. One mistake you made is not capitalizing at the beginning at some sentences.

  2. Good job jerick! I like how when you rotated the shapes you used different colours so it was easier to understand, but I think you forgot to put the primes after you rotated it. The last picture was sort of hard to see. The first picture, I dont know if its just me but I realized you didn't put the whole integer grid. Also most of your I's weren't capital. But overall GOOD JOB !!

  3. Good job yo. Like Darnell said.. I like your use of colors. The important stuff popped out and it looks nice. Oh and thanks for reminding us about the other stuff..I almost forgot.

  4. Good job Jerick! Your explanations aren't as confusing as you think they are. I understood them. Your first picture was okay. Some numbers are hard to understand. Maybe if you made the picture a little bigger and typed the numbers instead of drawing it, it could have looked clearer. Your second picture, including the explanations was good. Next time, try drawing the letters darker so it's clearer. I can't really tell what some of the letters are after the transformations. Good job on showing our work in class today. Thanks for telling us our homework and assignments.

  5. Oh and I think you forgot to put primes after the transformations on the second picture. Also, don't forget to capitalize the I's and the first letters of some sentences.

  6. Nice job Jerick! You had a nice use of colours and you made certain words stick out. On your first picture, it was very easy to read but I think you left out a few numbers and the second picture was a little hard to see and I think that you left our your primes. You could improve your next time by enlarging your pictures and explaining the units for your rotation. Other than that, good job!

  7. Nice job Jerick! Your post looks very nice and colorful. For the first picture, like April said, you can type the numbers so it looks clearer and make them a little bigger. The second picture was also nice, I liked how you used different colors after you translated the figure. You forgot to put the primes though, so watch out for that next time. I also liked how you explained the technique that you used to understand rotation. It was smart of you to make the key words stand out. So overall, good job!

  8. Nice job Jerick! I liked how you used different colors to point out the important information. I also liked the pictures but for the first one you should have just typed the numbers out so it looks clearer. Nice job on putting all the homework to remind everyone what things were due. I noticed that you didn't put your primes for the second picture and so next time you should remember to put them. Otherwise, everything was well done.

  9. good job jerick! great picture but for the first one instead of drawing it in you can type it in next time. nice choice of colours very easy to see. i like how you said what was homework. it helps a lot for those people who dont know what homework is. i have always notice in your second picture you didnt put in your primes, just make sure you do that next time. great job again!

  10. Good Job Jerick! For the rotation part, I thought I was doing it wrong since I got a bit confused on where to start reflecting it. Now that I read this, I kinda understand how to reflect it! By the way, I liked how you colour the most important words. Those really stand out! Overall, it's pretty good. GOOD JOB! =)

  11. Nice job Jerick. It was all fairly simple to understand and the colours help distinguish certain parts so it would be easier to understand. The picture of the reflection and rotation was okay overall but it was hard to see your labels. Work a bit on your capitalization. All in all its very well done keep it up!

  12. Good job Jerick, putting a replica of the integer sheet we did in class. It would be a helpful source for those who didn't get the right answers. I didn't get all the answers in class myself, because I labeled one of the squares in the left hand column wrong. Good job on the diagram you drew. A little more clarity next time wouldn't hurt. Good job on all the effort you put in.

  13. good job jerick! i liked how you explained everything so well, and how you put in pictures to explain a little better. the second picture where you rotated it, was kinda blurry, i couldnt read very well. but thats ok you still did a very good job! keep it up!

  14. Good job jerick! The explanations with pictures explained things well. Although there were some parts that didnt look sharp to me, which was hard to see. Well, other than that i found the rest very well done. And you kept it, nice, simple, organized, and easy to understand.
