Jeric's Scribepost for October 5

Hi guys. Today in math class we were given questions from the textbook that we had to do. We were also supposed to do a scribepost for the specifically given question.

So my formula for this rectangular prism is:
SA = 2 ( lw ) + 2 ( lh ) + 2 ( wh )
SA = 2 ( 8x12 ) + 2 ( 8x5 ) + 2 ( 5x12 )
SA = 2 ( 96 ) + 2 ( 40 ) + 2 ( 60 )
SA = 192 + 80 + 60
SA = 332 cm2

My assumptions in finding my answer would still be 332cm2 because assuming the metal casing is 0 thickness.

I know this is simple but I am pretty sure I got some things wrong so please comment and RATE ? THNX GUYS !!!

  1. Yes! I found a mistake! For the the formula up there ^^^^ see the "orange part", it says 2(60). But then when it came to "red" it says 60 instead of 120. So the Total Surface Area should be 392 not 332. Unless the bottom doesn't count then it would be 296. Okie dokie

  2. Hi Jeric!! Good job but Giuseppe is absolutely right about the 120cm but you put 60cm. So you might want to fix that but other than that, i liked your different colours. (:
