QUESTION 17

A) What are the outside dimensions of the two flues?

The answer is 24 cm2 by 20 cm2 by 48 cm2.

B) If the height of each flue is 30cm, what is the outside surface area of two flues? Hint: do not forget the flat edges on top.

A = (3o)(48) = 1 440 cm2

B = (30)(24) = 720 cm2

C = (24)(24) - (20)(20) = 176 cm2

T.S.A = 2A + 2B + 4C
T.S.A = 2(1440) + 2(720) + 2(176)

T.S.A = 4 672 cm2
