Brayden's Post

We were assigned a question from the textbook to do on the blog.

My question was number 15 from page 69.

15) Predict the next three numbers

A) -1 1/2, - 7/8, - 1/4, 3/8, 1....

-1.5, - 0.875, -0.25, 0.375 , 1

B) 1 1/3, - 2/3, 1/3, - 1/6, 1/12.....

A) When I was looking at A I was looking for a pattern. I converted the fractions into decimals and noticed a pattern. Every number you are adding 0.625 to the previous number. That would make my next 3 answers 1 5/8 (1.625), 2 1/4 (2.25) and 2 7/8 (2.875).

B) When I was doing B I did it a bit differently from A. I was looking at the pattern and I noticed that you were dividing the numerators by 2 then when the numerator became 1 they started dividing the denominator by 2. The pattern started by dividing by -2 then 2 and so on.
