Michelle's Scribepost for November 2, 2010

Hey everyone! Today in math class we were each given a question from the textbook. My question was ...

Question 19:
The table includes the melting points and boiling points of six elements known as the noble gases.

a) Which noble gases have a melting point that is less than the melting point of argon?
Helium , Neon *( The bigger the negative number is, the smaller value it has)

b) Which noble gases have a boiling point that is greater than the boiling point of krypton?
Radon, Xenon **( The smaller the negative number is, the bigger value it has)

c) Arrange the melting points in ascending order. (small - big)
Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, Radon

d) Arrange the boiling points in descending order. (big - small)
Radon, Xenon, Krypton, Argon, Neon, Helium (Did you notice the order was vice versa?)

* If the colours don't show up, sorry because it never does when ever I try to put any.
